# Token Burning

## Quarterly burn

10% of Singularity's total supply will be locked in Dexpanse's burner. A burn event will happen every quarter, where a fraction of that amount will be forever burned. The exact amount burned will depend on the current Singularity price.

## Automatic burn events

Each time somebody uses SGY to pay a discounted price for any of Dexpanse's services, half of all the SGY tokens received as payment will automatically be burned. For more information, read about paying with SGY [here](/dexpanse-wiki/singularity-utility-token/utility.md#paying-with-singularity).
